This is a year full of challenges. Despite the global pandemic, the Center for China’s Governmental Auditing Research (CCGAR) and School of Accounting at the Nanjing Audit University (NAU) are pleased to announce that the 5th Research Camp on Auditing and Accounting will be held on 27 May 2022 in a hybrid mode - a combination of in-person and online participants.
The purpose of research camp is to bring together leading scholars, practitioners and Ph.D. students working on current issues in auditing and accounting. The camp will comprise keynote speeches and paper presentations. CCGAR and NAU are committed to hosting the research camp on a yearly basis and developing it into a premier research conference in China. In the past few years, we are honoured to have invited Prof. Thomas Hemmer (Rice), Prof. Qi Chen (Duke), Prof. Chan Li (Kansas), and Prof. Clive Lennox (USC), Professor Roger Simnett (UNSW) and Prof. Albert Tsang (HK PolyU) to participate our camp as the keynote speakers.
This Year Keynote Speakers
For this year’s camp, we are very excited to announce Professor Bin Ke from National University of Singapore and Professor Yong (George) Yang from The Chinese University of Hong Kong as our keynote speakers.
Professor Bin Ke is a Professor of Accounting and Provost’s Chair at the NUS Business School since 2015. He is a holder of the prestigious “Chang Jiang Scholar” (“长江学者”) title awarded by China’s Ministry of Education and the Li Ka Shing Foundation. Professor Ke’s primary research interests focus on the economic forces that determine the production and use of accounting information in business decisions. He is interested in using interdisciplinary approaches to tackle today’s complex business problems. Examples of his research include earnings management, insider trading, institutional investors, and financial analysts. Professor Ke’s recent research focuses on financial reporting, managerial incentives, and investor protection in emerging markets with a particular focus on China. His research has been published in all major accounting journals, including The Accounting Review, Journal of Accounting and Economics, Journal of Accounting Research, Review of Accounting Studies, and Contemporary Accounting Research. Professor Ke is a consulting editor of theChina Journal of Accounting Research, a current or former editorial board member of theJournal of American Taxation Association, The Accounting Review, and The International Journal of Accounting. He was an editor of The Accounting Review over June 2011-May 2014.
Professor Yong (George) Yang is a Professor of School of Accountancy at The Chinese University of Hong Kong (CUHK). Prof. Yang has published research articles in journals such as The Accounting Review, Management Science, and Review of Accounting Studies and has been on the editorial board of The Accounting Review since 2016. Prof. Yang has broad research interests related to various accounting and finance issues driven by agents’ economic incentives. He is particularly interested in topics on corporate governance, information disclosure, financial analysts, and insider trading.

The organizers encourage submission of theoretical, archival and experimental studies on variety of issues in auditing and accounting.The deadline for paper submission is 30 April 2022.Manuscripts (English only) should be submitted to Dr. Lin Liao at liao_lin@hotmail.com.
